Where are you right now?
I’m in my old bedroom at my parent’s house in Lubliniec (south of Poland).
What time is it now?
It’s almost 4PM.
What the view from the window?
I can see my parents’ backyard: green lawn, pine trees, also, the neighbouring houses and blue sky.
What a colour would you choose about your mood of today?
Orange
Perhaps would you tell us about the environment where you were raised in your childhood/ teen years?
It was the exact same place where I am right now, filled with colors, patterns and smells. The house is close to a forest, which was a frequent location of my regular escapades.
Where do you live now?
I like to say that I’m ‘in between places’ but I spend most of my time in Wroclaw (Poland).
Would you tell us the name of flower and its colour which blooms in your hometown?
My hometown is currently filled with yellow crocuses poking their lively heads around the place in often unexpected green areas.
Do you have a place you can call spiritual home? If yes, please tell us about it.
I would say it is the forest near my parents’ house. It’s been my favorite location since I can remember serving as the place where I would escape to, connect with the nature and totally sink into the beauty of it.
What is your favorite season?
Late spring, when it’s warm and the days become really long…
What is the precious thing/ time in your daily life?
The moment when I wake up and I’m still with one leg in the dream world.
How would you spend time during a day off, and also a working day?
I can say that I am quite lucky since there is not really much of a difference between my day off and work day. Normally I spend my days sharing time with the loved ones, taking photos and exploring various surroundings.
What is your favorite fashion style, and tell us about the favorite piece from your wardrobe?
My fashion style is simple and quite minimal. My current favorite is a pair of burgundy corduroys which I wear way too often as they have recently started falling apart.
Do you remember when you took a picture for the first time?
It was in the early 90s when I took a picture of my niece Ania with my mom’s compact camera.
What would you try to catch when you are taking a photograph?
I always aim to grasp this brief moment of weightlessness between movements in various situations.
When you take a photograph, what attracts you as an object?
It really could be anything. I just follow my instinct and let my surroundings guide me.
What camera and a roll of film do you shoot with currently?
Canon Rebel K2 and Contax G2 usually with 100 iso films.
Do you have a favorite book?
Yes, it is “In search of lost time” by Marcel Proust.
Which photographers do you particularly respect?
Wolfgang Tillmans, Nan Goldin and William Eggleston, just to name few.What a film/ book/ music/ person/ thing inspires you now?
I tend to constantly look for new music, books or tv shows to inspire me but most of the time I end up being influenced by watching inner landscapes of motionless silence, or, to make it sound less poetic, I’m pretty much influenced by various modes of meditation at the moment.
What place did you shoot for niuhaus?
The shooting took place in various locations in Poland: from the snow covered trees of Sudety Mountains to the parks on the outskirts of Wroclaw.
Would you tell us about how the shoot went?
It was a fun way to explore new snowy surroundings in the company of my close friends.
If you don’t mind, tell us about the relationship between you and the model?
Agata (the model) is an artist and a dear friend of mine with whom I have had an instant connection since the day we met. She currently lives in Warsaw where she manages her own fashion label.
What is your impression about Japan?
Japan to me feels like an explosive romance between high pace city life and pure harmony of breath-taking natural surroundings.
Do you have a place where you would like to visit for shooting?
There is many but I would start with New Zealand.
Lastly, is there any news you would like to announce? or what plans do you have for future projects?
I’m currently working on putting together my next book which I hope to release later this year. Apart from that, I’m just focusing on taking photos and enjoying life.

南ポーランドのルブリニェツにある私の両親の家で、以前は自分の部屋だったところに居ます。
そちらは今何時ですか？
まもなく午後の4時になるところです。
窓からはどんな景色が見えますか？
両親の裏庭の芝生と松の木、それに近隣の家が数件と青空が見えます。
今日の気分を色に例えるとしたら何色ですか？
オレンジ色です。
子供の頃はどんな環境で育ちましたか？
今まさに私の居る場所がそうだったんですが、常に様々な色彩や模様や香りに取り囲まれた環境で育ちました。家の近くには森があって、よくそこで探検したりしていました。
現在はどちらに住んでいますか？
「街と街のあいだで暮らしている」と言うのが私の理想ですが、実際はポーランドのワルシャワに居ることが多いです。
あなたの生まれ育った土地に咲く花の名前や色を教えていただけますか？
今の季節は、至る所に黄色いクロッカスの花が咲いていて、時々緑の生い茂る場所に突如、咲いていたりもします。
あなたにとって、心の故郷的な場所はありますか？
先ほども少し話しましたが、実家の近くにある森がそうだと言えます。子供の頃からその森に隠れるが好きで、そこで自然との繋がりを体感したり、自然の美しさを学びました。
好きな季節はいつですか？
暖かくて日がとても長くなる、春の終わりが好きです。
私生活で大切にしている事や時間はありますか？
朝目覚めて、まだ夢の中にいるような感覚のときが好きです。
普段の生活と休日の過ごし方を教えて下さい。
私には平日と休日の境がほとんど無いんです。でもそれは、本当にラッキーな事だと感じています。大抵は最愛の人たちと時間を過ごしたり、撮影をしていたり、家の近くをあちこち散策しています。
好きなファッションスタイルやお気に入りの1着を教えて下さい。
シンプルでミニマルなスタイルが好きなんですが、最近一番気に入っているのは、バーガンディー色のコーデュロイパンツで、いつも着ているので、ボロボロになってしまいました。
初めて写真を撮った時のことを覚えていますか？
ええ、90年代の初めに、母と姪のAniaをコンパクトカメラで撮ったことを覚えています。
写真を撮る時に心掛けていることを教えて下さい。
あらゆる場面において、常に動きと無重力の間にある瞬間を捉えようと努めています。
撮影される時はどんな被写体に惹かれますか？
どんなモノでも被写体に成り得ると思いますが、環境と直感が導く方へ従って、ひたすら進んでいます。
使用しているカメラやフィルムを教えていただけますか？
カメラは、Canon Rebel K2とContax G2で、フィルムはISO 100を使っています。
お気に入りの本はありますか？
ええ、Marcel Proustの「In search of lost time」です。
尊敬している写真家はいますか？
2、3人挙げるとしたら、Wolfgang Tillmans、Nan Goldin、William Egglestonです。
現在インスピレーションを受けている映画/本/人物/事物を教えて下さい。
いつも新しい音楽や本やテレビ番組から、何か刺激を得ようとしますが、結局はいつも、様々なタイプの瞑想を通して、静寂に満ちた内なる情景に目を向けることで、インスピレーションを得ます。
niuhansの撮影はどこで行いましたか？
雪で追われたスデーティ山地の林の中や、ヴロツワフ郊外にある公園など、ポーランドの様々な場所で撮影しました。
撮影中のエピソードなどを教えて下さい。
親しい友人たちと雪の中を散策しながら撮影できたので、とても楽しかったです。
モデルとの関係について教えて下さい。
Agataはアーチストなんですが、ワルシャワで自身のファッションレーベルも運営しています。彼女とは知り合って直に意気投合した親友なんです。
日本の印象について教えていただけますか？
日本のことを想像すると、ハイペースな大都市が美しい和の自然と混ざり合っているような、ロマンチックな破壊を感じます。
撮影で訪れてみたい場所はありますか？
沢山ありますが、先ずはニュージーランドを訪れてみたいです。
最後に、今後のニュースや告知などを教えて下さい。
写真集を編集中で、年末には発表したいと考えています。後は、これからも写真を撮る事に専念して、人生を謳歌したいです。
